This year, 2024, marks 100 years of Biodynamics - a century since the lecture series that would bring us back to communion with the energetics. We knew that this would be a marked year, though as we’ve all learned in our own work, expectation does not always align with outcome.
The Josephine Porter Institute for Applied Biodynamics was formed 4 decades ago to ensure the development and accessibility of biodynamic preparations, education, and research was available to the community. We love to see just how much that community has grown, beyond the hills of southwest Virginia. Through a community that feeds us and nurtures our own development as an organization, our relationships, and collaborations reach across the country, and often even farther.
We’ve come to see that the Caterpillar life of JPI is in transition. Our future form is yet to come.
Education, outreach, and collaboration has become an essential part of the future of JPI. These light led energies lift our vision, shifting our earthly nature. In order to fully accept our etheric form we must release some familiar methods that have served us well.
We have made the decision to move from our home in Floyd, Virginia, selling the current JPI farm land. This was a decision not made lightly, but after much deliberation by unanimous vote of our Board of Directors.
Over several years of slow change, we have come to see that our energies can be better spent in support of broadening the Biodynamic reach. Our mission moves us to act through collaborative efforts with regional farms and practitioners, and through collective engagement.
While we still have many aspects to develop, we see steady growth! Most recently we have made the transition to a beautiful new website, built to broaden all of our access to biodynamic understanding and application.
JPI will continue producing and selling preparations, along with other supplies and educational material, as our online bookstore remains open for business. Most importantly, we will continue to deliver our popular, fun and informative workshops! Our dedication to Biodynamics simply shifts us to a new location.
There is still much to do behind the scenes during our Chrysalis phase, and we will need the support of our wonderful community. Together we will see that the Butterfly coming will pollinate endless gardens.
We will continue to share updates as the vision unfolds. For further information or to get involved, please reach out to us directly. Contact Virginia Samsel, JPI board member, via email Virginia@jpibiodynamics.org
