FORGOTTEN is my sovereign will
as world-warmth, announcing summer, fills
my wakeful heart and dreaming mind;
“to lose myself in light,”
obliges me, the season’s wisdom,
and potently incites me further:
“you must have lost yourself, yourself to find!”

Greetings fellow farmers, gardeners, earth stewards, and cosmic shepherds!
Daylight hours continue to lengthen as we edge closer to the summer solstice. The following astrological observations offer suggestions that may be helpful for planning activities with the land during this time. While these suggestions can serve as general guidance, be sure to consider your own climate and weather patterns first and foremost, and adapt according to local conditions.
* Today is Friday, June 2, and it’s 9 o’clock in the morning.
* According to the sidereal zodiac, the Sun entered Taurus on May 15 and will remain here until June 20.
* The Moon entered Libra yesterday (June 1), where it will remain until 8 o’clock this evening (June 2). Plant and tend flowering crops and herbs today – tend broccoli, pick flowers for teas, weed herbs, sow sunflower seeds, cut hay.
* The Moon then transitions into Scorpio tonight (June 2) where it will remain until the end of day on Sunday June 4. Plant and tend leafy crops during this time – tend or start new salad greens, transplant lettuce, kale, chard, cabbage.
* We will experience a Full Moon tomorrow, Saturday, June 3. During the Full Moon, watery forces are pulled upward (think of the effect that the moon has pulling ocean tides). This, biodynamic researchers claim, allows for better germination rates for plants seeded in the days leading up to the Full Moon. However, due to the intensity of light, planting and transplanting during the exact Full Moon time may not be ideal. So, flowering plants that need to be seeded or transplanted should be done today (Friday June 2) or on Sunday (June 4), either before or after the Full Moon tomorrow.
* On Monday, June 5, the Moon will begin ascending in the northern hemisphere until June 17. When the Moon is ascending, it is generally a better time for harvesting and sowing. If you are in the southern hemisphere where the Moon will be descending, it is generally a better time for transplanting. So, if you are in the northern hemisphere, best to finish transplanting while the Moon is still descending through Sunday June 4.
* The Moon transitions into Sagittarius early in the morning of Monday, June 5, where it will remain until the following morning, Tuesday, June 6. Plant and tend fruiting crops during this time. Moreover, with the proximity of the recent Full Moon, this fruit day makes for a great opportunity to apply BD 501 Horn Silica to crops. It is recommended to stir and apply 501 as a foliar spray at dawn with the rising sun.
* The Moon will then perigee from 8 AM on Tuesday, June 6 until 8 AM on Wednesday, June 7. It is recommended to refrain from working the land and allow crops to rest during this time.
* Following the perigee, the Moon will be in Capricorn from 8 AM on Wednesday, June 7 until night time on Thursday, June 8. Plant and tend root crops during this time – carrots, potatoes, beets, turnips.
* From early morning on Friday, June 9 until 5 PM on Saturday, June 10, the Moon then moves through Aquarius. Plant and tend flowering crops and aromatic herbs during this time.
* Then, from nightfall on Saturday, June 10 until noon on Tuesday, June 13, the Moon will be transitioning through Pisces. Plant and tend leafy crops during this time. Moreover, we will experience a Water Trine during this time, adding extra benefit for cultivating leafy crops.
Thank you for your care and effort as we work together to heal the Earth in conscious cooperation with the cosmos. 🥳
