Thanksgiving through early December

Greetings fellow farmers, gardeners, land stewards and caretakers of the cosmos!

Balding branches bow with blessings, blown by Autumn winds. The following astrological observations offer suggestions that may be helpful for planning activities with the land during this time. While these suggestions can serve as general guidance, be sure to consider your own climate and weather patterns first and foremost, and adapt according to local conditions.

* Today is Monday, November 20 and it’s 9 o’clock in the morning. 

* According to the sidereal zodiac, the Sun transitions into Scorpio today, November 20, where it will remain for the following month until it transitions into Sagittarius on December 20.

* The Moon is currently in Aquarius, where it will remain until around 5 AM tomorrow morning, Tuesday, November 21. Plant, tend, and harvest flowering crops and herbs during this Air sign. 

* Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 21, we will experience the Moon’s perigee throughout the entire day. For this reason, it is recommended to refrain from working the land.

* The influences of lunar perigee will end around 5 AM the following morning, Wednesday, November 22, during which time the Moon will be in Pisces, where it will remain until around 1 PM on Friday, November 24. Plant, tend, and harvest leafy crops and herbs during this Water sign.

* However, from around 4 AM until 10 AM on the morning of Friday, November 24 we will experience the Moon’s ascending node, during which time it is recommended to refrain from working the land. Enjoy spending this time with family, continuing to rest and digest Thanksgiving tidings :) 

* By around 5 PM on the afternoon of Friday, November 24, the Moon will have transitioned into Aries, where it will remain until around 8 AM on Sunday, November 26. Plant, tend, and harvest fruiting crops and trees during this Fire sign.

* The Moon then transitions into Taurus at around 10 AM on Sunday, November 26, where it will remain until the end of Tuesday, November 28. Plant, tend, and harvest root crops during this Earth sign. Moreover, these Earth days would make for nice occasions to apply BD 500 Horn Manure, or Biodynamic Pfeiffer Field and Garden Spray, as cosmic forces continue to seep into Earth’s depths preparing for winter rumination. 

* The Moon then moves into Gemini around 3 AM on Wednesday, November 29, where it will remain until about 6 AM on Friday, December 1. Plant, tend, and harvest flowering crops and herbs during this Air sign. Also, these Air days would make for nice occasions to apply BD 501 Horn Silica to the land and garden. An application of either BD 500 or Pfeiffer Field and Garden Spray in the evening of Tuesday November 28 followed by a morning application of BD 501 on November 29 could prove especially potent, particularly with the influences of the November 27 Full Moon still lingering.

* On Wednesday, November 29, the Moon also transitions from ascending to descending in the Northern Hemisphere, and will remain as such until December 12. Farmers in the Northern Hemisphere should prioritize transplanting during this window, as the descending Moon in general helps plants better take root. For farmers in the Southern Hemisphere, best to prioritize transplanting before the transition on November 29.

* At around 9 AM on Friday, December 1, the Moon then transitions into Cancer, where it will remain until around 11 PM on Saturday, December 2. Plant, tend, and harvest leafy crops and herbs during this Water sign.

* The Moon then moves into Leo at around 2 AM on Sunday, December 3, where it will remain until around 10 PM on Tuesday, December 5. Plant, tend, and harvest fruiting crops and trees during this Fire sign.  If you have been experiencing particularly wet conditions, it may be worth considering to apply a Biodynamic Sequential Spray to your land during this Fire window on December 3, 4 and 5. Conscientiously using the biodynamic preparations in alignment with opportune astrological configurations as a Sequential Spray can help bring moisture balance back to the local environment. It is strongly recommended that the land has already been treated with biodynamic preparations before conducting a Sequential Spray. 

* Then, from around 1 AM on Wednesday, December 6 through 3 PM on Saturday, December 9, the Moon will be transitioning through Virgo. Plant, tend, and harvest root crops during this prolonged Earth sign. These Earth days would also provide appropriate occasions to apply BD 500 Horn Manure or Biodynamic Pfeiffer Field and Garden Spray.

* Please note, however, that from around 9 AM until 3 PM on Friday, December 8, we will experience the Moon’s descending node, during which time it is recommended to refrain from working the land.

* From around 7 PM on Saturday, December 9 until about midnight on Sunday, December 10, the Moon then transitions through Libra. Plant and tend flowering crops and herbs during this Air sign. Also consider using the morning of December 10 as a good opportunity to apply BD 501 Horn Silica. 

* Then, from around 3 AM on Monday, December 11 until about 7 AM on Wednesday, December 13, the Moon will be moving through Scorpio. Plant and tend leafy crops during this Water sign. If you have been experiencing particularly dry conditions, it may be worth considering to apply a Biodynamic Sequential Spray to your land during this Water window on December 11, 12 and 13.
